Middle East conflict hits Saudi football: SPL postpones matches after Asian Cup delay

The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has announced that Matchweek 13 will be postponed following the rescheduling of the AFC Asian Cup, which is now set for December 2027 to January 2028 due to prevailing security concerns. This alteration affects many Saudi clubs, including Al-Nassr, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, leading to interruptions in their international fixtures. The SPL intends to reassess its match schedule promptly amid rising tensions in the region.
