Thousands of US-based techies return in 9 months; steep salary cuts await in India

Indian techies return: Between January and September 2026, around 12,700 white-collar technology workers returned to India, according to data from staffing firm Xpheno. The tally is already approaching the record 15,100 returnees recorded in the whole of 2025, and is expected to surpass that figure by the end of this year.
