New Delhi: Drug maker Lupin Ltd on Tuesday announced the launch of Formoflo-G MDI, a fixed-dose triple combination metered-dose inhaler (MDI) for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in India.The launch follows approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI), the company said in a statement.Formoflo-G MDI combines three established therapies- Glycopyrronium Bromide, Formoterol Fumarate, and Fluticasone Propionate-into a single inhaler for the long-term management and treatment of moderate to severe COPD. The product, which the company said is the world's first, is available as a twice-daily, single-strength fixed dose.According to the company, the therapy aims to serve more than 55 million people living with COPD in India, where the condition remains a leading cause of death and disability."As respiratory diseases continue to impact millions across India, access to effective therapies remains critical... By combining innovation with accessibility, we aim to improve outcomes for patients living with respiratory diseases," Lupin Managing Director Nilesh Gupta said.Rajeev Sibal, President - India Region Formulations at Lupin, noted that the product marks an important addition to the company's respiratory portfolio by bringing three therapies together in a single inhaler.Citing IQVIA MAT March 2026 data, Lupin stated that it is currently ranked second in the respiratory therapy segment in India.
