From Shakti to Aravalli: India's helicopter engine journey takes shape

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a second production line for Shakti helicopter engines at HAL's Koraput division. This facility is expected to be fully operational by 2028-29 and will produce up to 100 engines annually. HAL is also increasing the production capacity of AL-31FP engines for the Su-30MKI to support aircraft operations. The Shakti engine development exemplifies India's progress in aerospace technology and indigenous manufacturing capabilities.
