Buses carry most overnight travellers, two-wheelers dominate the daily work commute

India’s first national travel survey finds 55.8% of overnight household journeys are by bus against 17.7% by rail; only 5% of urban worker commutes use urban mass transit such as metro, suburban rail, monorail and trams
