A Kentucky woman spent 35 years turning her 45-acre property into a natural area she planned to preserve through the Boone Conservancy. A nearly $40 million sewer project secured seven easements across her land through eminent domain. After a court backed SD1’s acquisition, neighbours protested and Boone County officials asked the utility to explain why it chose the route.
