Indigenous satellite guided weapon to give air force long range strike capability

The Indian Air Force is preparing to induct a new satellite-guided variant of the Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon. This upcoming weapon is designed specifically to target hardened ground installations like bunkers and runways. A contract worth Rs 810.79 crore has been signed for 160 units of the advanced weapon system. The development emphasizes indigenous capabilities, showcasing the government's commitment to enhancing local defense manufacturing.
