FSSAI moves to bar use of ‘paneer’ for non-dairy analogues

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has proposed a restriction on the term 'paneer'. Products not made from milk-derived ingredients would be prohibited from using this term. The proposed amendment is a response to consumer protection concerns regarding misleading product names. FSSAI has defined these products specifically to ensure clarity in labeling.
