31 years after Rs 100 bribe case began, ex-railway clerk gets 1 year in jail

Kali Shankar Dhobi, a former parcel clerk, faced a conviction for bribery at Hatia Railway Station back in 1995. He was found guilty of demanding an extra Rs 100 for motorcycle bookings, prompting a lengthy CBI investigation. After nearly 31 years, the Jharkhand High Court upheld a reduced sentence, taking into account his old age and ill health, ensuring Dhobi serves no more than one year in prison.
